<p>The plug holder (1) containing the plug (2) and the current carrying connecter cable (3,4,5) consists of two flat, similarly formed housing sections (11,12), made of plastic. Openings are formed in the sections to allow the cables to be inserted, and for locating the two housings with one another, a spigot (13) is formed in one half, with a suitable mating recess (14) in the other half. Connecting screws are also provided and inserted through holes (15,16) in the surface of the housing.To take the strain on the cables (3,4,5), grips (21,22) are provided, which are L-shaped in cross section and have gripping surfaces (23,24,25), roughly formed e.g. spiky or toothed. These surfaces hold the cables firmly in the housing, and allow cables of different diameters, including flat cable, to be connected to the plug.</p> |
