The installation has a supply pump (4) discharging extinguishing fluid via piping (3,3a,3b) and pressure valves (5) into hoses (7) and hand jets (12). To facilitate transfer of the length of hoses filled with pressurised fluid, and therefore heavy, to another point of action, the system is fitted with bypasses connecting the supply pipes (3a,3b) downstream of valves (5) with pipe circuit (10) connected to the suction side (9) of the pump (4). To empty the fluid-filled hoses (7) valves (11) are opened and the fluid flows back via piping (10) into the suction connection (9) of the pump.
