<p>PURPOSE:To emilinate the need to provide a dedicated control track on a magnetic tape by reproducing a control signal by a fixed magnetic head during reproduction and by using it as a signal for tracking control. CONSTITUTION:In this recording system, a contro signal current occupying a specific frequency range is supplied to a fixed magnetic head Hca or Hec, Provided at a position preceding a recording part to a rotary magnetic recording medium, during recording to record the control on the magnetic recording medium prior to the recording of principal information signals by a rotary magnetic head. During reproduction, the control signal is reproduced by the fixed magnetic head Hca or Hec and used for tracking control, so it is unecessary to provide a control track for exclusive use on a magnetic tape T like a conventional system, so that the control signal is recreded and reproduced with necessary width in the widthwise direction of the magnetic tape T.</p> |
