<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an apparatus for a heat pump capable of continuous operation, by transferring metallic hydride through a cylinder provided with a heating part and a cooling part, and by desorbing and absorbing hydrogen from the above-mentioned material by heating and cooling it. CONSTITUTION:The metallic hydride MH fed into a cylinder 1 from a supply port 3 is transferred through the cylinder 1 by a screw 2. During this time, the metallic hydride is heated by a heating medium 5 in high temperature in a heat exchanging part 9, releasing hydrogen. The hydrogen is taken out of a system from a hydrogen discharging pipe 7. The metallic hydride MH is moved forward further by a screw 2, coming up to a heat exchanging part 10, where it absorbs hydrogen which is introduced in the part 10 with low pressure, as well as it is cooled, and recovered to the former metallic hydride MH, and is returned to a supply port 3 from an exhaust port 4. With such an arrangement, an apparatus utilizing metallic hydride of simple structure, capable of continuous operation, suitable for the apparatus such as a heat pump and a hydrogen compressor, can be obtained.</p> |
