The self-propelled electric parquet floor grinding unit comprises a two-part frame (1,1a) with front wheels (25) and driven (4) steerable (8) rear wheels (2). A wide endless grinding belt (16) runs around a cylinder (12) carried near the floor, preferably at the front of the frame, and a parallel roller (17) above the cylinder. The cylinder is driven via V-belts (13) by a motor (14) which at the same time drives a dust extractor (22) arranged behind the cylinder. A height-adjustable seat (6) is arranged behind the steering wheel (8) and the handwheel (26) for height adjustment of the cylinder.
