<p>The reel assembly is intended for winding or unwinding wire or strip material, such as may be used for feeding strip in steps to a punching press. It has a drive motor (17) which can be coupled (14,13) to the hollow winding shaft (2) and is alternatively couplable (14,19) to a central shaft (3) which drives (25,7) the mechanism (6,8) to radially adjust the winding core members (9) for internally tensioning, or adapting to, the wire or strip wound on the reel. The assembly consists of standard sub-assemblies which can be used to build up single or twin-reel units and different possibilities are specified and illustrated.</p> |
