<p>The stirling engine converts a temp. differential into mechanical energy, and operates using the Carnot cycle. Several heat pumps are switched behind each other, so that the high remp. of one pump represents the low temp. of the following pump. The high output temp. of the last pump represents the drive temp. for the engine. Cooling of the low temp. end of the engine may be by ambient air, or water. Use of the heat pumps is intended to increase the efficiency of the system.</p> |
