PURPOSE:To prevent generation of chilled structure in a cast piece, and to control generation of a crack flaw on the surface, by constituting so that a molten supplied to a deformed casting mold from a holding furnace flows toward a high temperature area through the adjacent part of a low temperature surface. CONSTITUTION:When a deformed cast iron piece is cast horizontally and continuously, a molten metal flow supplied into a deformed casting mold from a holding furnace 4 is made to flow to a high temperature area 3 in the casting mold through the adjacent part of a low temperature surface area 2 of the molten metal contacting with an operating surface 1 of the casting mold. For instance, a molten metal supply port is made to branch and is provided in advance suitably on the inlet of the casting mold, or the molten metal supply port is made to branch and is provided in advance suitably on the discharge port of the holding furnace 4. In this way, a difference of a solidifying speed of the molten metal in the casting mold is improved remarkably, and the purpose is attained. |
