PURPOSE:To achieve excellent cleaning without spoiling the durability of a photoreceptor, etc., by bringing a magnetic brush, formed on a nonmagnetic cylindrical body rotating by a multipolar magnet, into contact with the photoreceptor having sticking residual toner. CONSTITUTION:A nonmagnetic cylindrical body 3 having, for example, a thin aluminum surface rotates around the external circumference of a multipolar magnet member 2 fixed on a shaft (a) in the opposite direction synchronizing with a rotary drum 1. A cleaning material 5 consisting of toner 8 and a carrier sticking on the nonmagnetic cylindrical body 3 by being sucked is carried according to the rotation of the nonmagnetic cylindrical body 3 to touch the rotary drum 1 at an N-pole position, so that the cleaning material cleans the toner 8 remaining on the rotary drum 1 after transfer by sliding. The cleaning material 5 after the cleaning crashes into nonmagnetic meshes 7 smaller than each grain of the carier and larger than the toner 8 to separate into the carrier and toner 8, thereby collecting the toner 8 into a suction box through the meshes 7. |
