NEW MATERIAL:The polypeptide of formulaI(R is lower alkyl which may be substituted with OH; Ala is D-isomer and the others are L-amino acid). EXAMPLE:The polypeptide of formula II. USE:Ovulation inducing agent for diagnosis of pituitary function, and remedy for hypopituitarism. The agent stimmulates the pituitary and promotes the section of luteinizing hormone and follicule-stimulating hormone. The compound has extremely low toxicity, and can be administered safely. PROCESS:The polypeptide of formulaIis prepared by condensing pyroglutamic acid or a partial peptide having the amino acid sequence corresponding to formulaIand having pyroglutamic acid residue as the N-terminal, with the residual part of the polypeptide of tormulaI. |
