PURPOSE:To remove surface flaws with a small scale device by providing an abrasive cleaning device and a looper continuously and making the locally concentrated surface flaws continuously removable on-line with a continuous annealing plant. CONSTITUTION:A strip S is introduced into an annealing furnace 10, where it is subjected to annealing, after which it is fed to a looper 20. Here, the difference between the pass speed of the strip S in the furnace 10 and the flaw removing speed of the next abrasive cleaning device 30 is controlled. The strip S fed to the next device 30 is descaled of its surface with the abrasive grain slurry sprayed from the nozzles of a spray header 31, whereby the strip S is removed of flaws. If necessary, it is fed to a pickling device 40, where it is removed of the residual scale and the stuck abrasive grains. |
