PURPOSE:To prevent possible omission of characters to be printed by detecting breakage of a dot wire, non-operation of a printing magnet and the like by means of a pressure-sensitive sensor for detecting an impact and a memory means in an impact type printer. CONSTITUTION:In an impact type printer comprising a printing magnet 1, a shuttle bar 2, a platen 5 and the like, a pressure-sensitive sensor 5a for detecting an impact during the printing and a memory means for temporarily storing an OR signal of an output signal thereof and an impact command signal. With such an arrangement, in the normal condition, namely, when the printing command signal coincides with the output signal of the sensor, no warning is given. But, when any sensor signal is not produced due to the abnormality such as breakage of a dot wire inspite of a printing command signal being outputted, the memory means provides a warning to halt the operation of the printer. |
