1307240 Rotary pressure filter V P ABRAMOV I I TSIRKIN J V GUTIN V L RADUSHKEVICH E L RISENZON and E B KISLY 19 June 1970 [23 June 1969] 29775/70 Heading BID A continuous rotary pressure filter comprises a stationary drum 1 and a rotating housing 5 driven by motor 9. The housing is divided into several filtering cells 6 provided with filtering cloth 20. As each filter cell passes space 10 on the exterior of the drum it is filled with slurry which is fed into space 10 under pressure along pipe 11. The slurry is filtered as the cell rotates around the drum, the filtrate being removed via pipe 7 and distributing head 8 and the filter cake remaining in the cell. When the cell reaches space 12 the cake is washed by water which is fed to this space. A second washing occurs at 13 and then the cake is dried at 14 by compressed air fed through pipe 15. The dried, washed cake falls finally into hopper 3 and is removed by screw 4. Support rollers 16 are provided and are adjustable so that the gap between drum and housing may be altered. Each filter cell is sealed from the next by means of seals 21.
