PURPOSE:To make insulation diagnosis of high accuracy possible with small sized and lightweight constitution by applying trapezoidal high voltage DC of inverting polarities and quantitatively measurig partial electric discharge with a pulse height analyzer. CONSTITUTION:The constant speed build-up and constant speed drop of integration of constant pulses, ultimate constant voltage, constant voltage holding time, etc. of a reference voltage generating part 2 are controlled according to the applied voltage, voltage build-up and drop speeds, applied voltage holding time, number of voltage applications and voltage applied state by a mode controller 1 of a control device 4. The trapezoidal DC high voltage of inverting polarities at a constant speed is generated via a voltage comparing control part 3 and a high voltage generating part 5, and is applied to an apparatus 7 to be tested. The electric discharge in accordance with the defective insulation of the apparatus 7 is detected by a partial discharge detector 8, and the magnitude and number of the partial discharge is quantitatively measured in a pulse height analyzer 9. According to the system of using the DC high voltage, the constitution is made small in size and light in weight; in addition, the partial discharge of good resolution by the constant speed build-up and drop is detected surely, and the insulation diagnosis is accomplished with high accuracy by the quantitative measurement by the analyzer. |
