A woven slide fastener stringer (3) comprises a coupling element (4) with upper & lower legs (6) between each coupling head section (4), and interconnecting heels (5). Reinforcing filaments (20, 21) run between the upper & lower legs. First wrap binding threads (12, 15) pass over the upper legs, between adjacent legs & alternately overlie & underlie wraps forming the foundation woven tape. Second wrap binding threads (13, 14) also pass over the upper legs, but pass between every other pair of legs & then alternately overlie & underlie the foundation tape wraps (16). The filament is immovably fixed to the foundation tape with wraps which do not move sideways during flexing & do not obstruct movement of the slider.
