PURPOSE:To obtain the results of tests conforming to the tire characteristics of an actual vehicle by means of a prime mover of small output by providing revolution transmission shaft systems to the respective output sides of a freely rotatable substituting road surface side and a tire supporting means side, and providing a speed changer freely cooperatively connectably between said shaft systems. CONSTITUTION:A substituting road surface 1 is rotated by starting a driving source 6, and a tire 7 mounted to a tire supporting means 8 is pressed by extending a pressure driving body 12, by which the driving torque and braking torque acting upon the tire 7 are tested and detected. More specifically, the speed ratio of a speed changer 104 is selected suitably, and from the surface speed of the body 1, the surface speed of the tire 7 is increased, whereby driving force is generated between the tire 7 and the body 1, and conversely when the surface speed of the tire 7 is lowered than the surface speed of the body 1, by which braking force is generated. |
