[Also in Division B5] Tubular film of synthetic organic thermoplastic polymeric material having one or two longitudinal thicker strips or zones is produced by the confined bubble method. Bags may be made from the tubular films by forming reentrant longitudinal folds to form the base of the bag, forming a re-entrant longitudinal fold at the thicker longitudinal zone of the film, severing the fold along its middle-fold edge and forming pierced portions or stampings defining carrying grips by means of welding and cutting stamps applied to the strengthened edge-fold, and forming transverse seams and severing there-along. |
