The spray gun has a moulded head (5) incorporating a recoil sprung piston (11) moving in a chamber (8a) connected to e.g. a paint bottle (2) via a valve (6). The piston includes a second valve (10) and an actuating lever (13), projecting from the head in the form of a sleeve closed by a spray nozzle (15). A lug (17) projects from each side of the piston and follows a ramped internal lever face to convert lever displacement into sliding piston movements. A piston tenon may engage an axial groove (8c) in the head bore to prevent relative rotation. The lever and the head are pref. moulded in one piece and the movement of the lever may be limited by head lugs (5b) located by slot-holes (14), the valve (10) being in one piece with its return spring (16) and the nozzle plate (15a).
