The compressor has several stages of stator guide blades (5) between the stages of the rotor blades. The stator blades have root cylinders (7) pivoted in a blade carrier (6). The roots project through the carrier with pins (10) which fit in grooves (11) in an adjusting sleeve (13). The sleeve extends axially over all the stator stages. The sleeve is moved axially by a ring (14) round the blade carrier. This movement rotates the blades. The ring is moved by three or more rods (17) round its circumference joining it to a positioning ring (26) which is guided on the blade carrier. The positioning ring is moved by a servo motor (28).PS.
