PURPOSE:To make it possible to check a head with simplicity and accuracy, in a label printer in which numerous heads are arranged on a lateral row, by printing stripes by heads on the both ends and also printing a checker-like pattern in the middle. CONSTITUTION:Stripe-like patterns 2 and 3 (including dotted lines) are printed by continuously or intermittently operating heads 1a and 1z on the both ends of a label printer in which numerous printing heads 1a-1z are arranged on a lateral line, and at the same time, by operating printing heads 1b-1y located between the patterns 2 and 3, checker-like patterns 4 and 5 or teeth-like patterns 7 and 8 are printed. In the case of printing the checker-like patterns, adjoining parts, of the checker-like patterns 4 and 5 are overlapped and thus overlapped pattern 6 is also printed at the same time. When such a checker-like pattern is printed on a label, in case if there is a head which did not operate, that part becomes a line of label color, and therefore, it can be detected with simplicity. |
