Machine for injection moulding prepacked dental prosthesis - to accommodate and preheat plaster moulds and prefilled cartridges

An injection moulding has a frame in which a mould tool can be clamped with its parting line in line with a spring loaded carriage for holding a prefilled cartridge of moulding material to be discharged by a ram integral with the moulding machine. Used esp. for moulding dental prostheses from either thermoplastic or solvent based moulding materials using moulds of plaster built around lost wax models of the required gum or plate profile to support one or more artificial teeth. Consolidated mouldings are produced free from voids or residual volatiles compared with use of cast mouldings or moulding postcured by hot water treatment. Use of preheated moulds reduces thermal shock for ceramic inserts, i.e. artificial molars.
