A hydraulic damper cylinder for vehicles includes a piston (1) which has two sets of axial oil transfer holes (4,5). Each set of holes is provided with a spring loaded valve plate (15,21). The valve plate (15) at the piston rod side (3) has two circular sets of holes which throttle the oil transfer in both directions. For damping fast piston movement, the second valve plate (21) opens due to the compression of the valve springs (14,22).
