PURPOSE:To eliminate the distortion of a deflecting yoke and the left and right pincushion distortion, by counting the number of horizontal scanning lines in every vertical period and by generating a waveform for correction of the left and right pincushion distortion by the output from a storage circuit which outputs an optional value corresponding to the count value. CONSTITUTION:The number of horizontal scanning lines is counted by a counter, and the counter 11 is reset at the vertical scanning period by the vertical synchronizing signal. A storage circuit 12 reads out an optional set numeric value from the storage area corresponding to the count value of the counter 11. The read numeric value is converted to a waveform required for correcting the left and right pincushion distortion by an A/D converting circuit 13. An integrating circuit 14 and an output circuit 15 for correction of left and right pincushion distortion are connected to the succeeding stage of the circuit 13. Thus, the number of horizontal scanning lines is counted, and data is read out from the storage area in accordance with the count value and has the waveform shaped, thereby correcting the left and right pincushion distortion including the distortion of a deflecting yoke in the left and right pincushion distortion correcting circuit 15. |
