PURPOSE:To heighten the efficiency of discharge machining, by enabling the automatic control of machining conditions as well as pulse conditions to optimum in accordance with instructions from a numerical controller or a program controller which changes the pulse conditions depending on the kind of machining. CONSTITUTION:A numerical controller 10 selects an optimal electrode 1 depending on machining. The conditions of pulses from a power source 3 are regulated by a program controller 4. Discharge in a machining gap is found out by a discharge state detection circuit 5. The detection signal from the circuit 5 and machining change signals from the numerical controller 10 and the program controller 4 are entered into a control circuit 6 so that the control circuit automatically searches out the optimal values of the other machining conditions such as the duty factor tau, machining voltage U and machining liquid pressure P and supplies optimal control signals for these conditions. |
