PURPOSE:To reutilize heat energy of scrap from end part of special steel slab and to simplify the disposing work by transferring slab to the next process before bursting of slab due to deformation strain by taking out high temperature scrap from end part from vessel before transformation produces under a condition where water-cooling is not yet applied. CONSTITUTION:The temperature at the surface of sheared scrap from end part 3 of a bloomed special steel slab 1 is lowered from 900 deg.C to 200 deg.C after approx. 1.5hr Since a time zone from 1.5hr after to 2.5hr after shearing is the dangerous period of bursting due to deformation strain, there is no fear of bursting, etc., when scrap is transferred within 1.5hr after shearing. Therefore scrap from end parts 3 is put in a skip car 5 in a dry pit 4 and red-hot scrap of about 900 deg.C is put in a high-temperature resisting vessel 7 of a dump truck 6 in a pit 8, and transferred to the next process. Thus accidents, such as bursting, etc., due to deformation strain is prevented. |
