PURPOSE:To facilitate the elongation of an electrode wire for wire-cut discharge machining and heighten the speed of the elongation, by making the wire of copper alloy containing prescribed quantities of aluminum, silver or the like. CONSTITUTION:An electrode wire for wire-cut discharge machining is made of copper mixed with 0.5-4.0% of aluminum and 0-0.5% of silver. As a result, the speed of processing of the wire can be heightened without causing it to snap. |
