PURPOSE:To permit automatic replacement of a hob by permitting automatic transfer and replacement of hobbs and permitting adjustment of the lead angle of a hob, matched with the torsional angle of the gear to be worked. CONSTITUTION:The hob 25 on a hob spindle saddle 22 is held by the holding part 13 at the top edge of the arm 8a which can be moved vertically by cylinders 12 and 16 and can be revolved by a cylinder 11, rack 10, and a pinion 47, and said hob 25 is transferred into an intermediate receiving hole b. The transferred hob 25 is held by the holding tool 5 which can be moved vertically by a cylinder 7 and can be revolved by a cylinder 4, rack 6, and a pinion 3a, and is accomodated in the vacant space on the magazine 1 which performs revolution indexing. The next hob 25 is transferred and fixed on the hob spindle saddle 22 by the reverse movement. The saddle 22 is adjusted to the lead angle of the hob 25 and the angle necessary for the torsional angle of the gear to be worked. |
