PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of resolution due to registration step-out of an image pickup element, by adding both outputs of a high-band luminance signal extracting means and a low-band luminance signal extracting means to obtain a luminance signal. CONSTITUTION:Signals rH+L, gH+L, and bH+L of respective colors have only low- band signals rL, gL, and bL extracted through low pass filters 19-20, and these extracted signals are synthesized by a mixing circuit 17 to obtain a signal yL of low-band components of the luminance signal. Signals rH+L and gH+L are supplied to subtractors 22 and 23 also, and low-band signals rL and gL are subtracted to take out signals rH and gH of high-band components. Signal rH and gH are supplied to an adder 24 and are added in a proportion of 1:1 to synthesize a signal yH of high-band components of the luminance signal, and the signal yH is supplied to an adder 25. Signals yH and yH are added by the adder 25 to obtain a luminance signal (y). The signal (y) is supplied to an encoder 18 and is synthesized with signals rL and bL to obtaine a color video signal (P). |
