Ozone generator - with water cooled outer electrode which cools inner electrode by admitting air at closed end

An ozoniser consists of a water-cooled metallic jacketed tube as the outer electrode, and a central glass tube, partly metallised, as the inner electrode. The air is admitted at the closed end of the inner electrode and must move to its open end before it can enter the annular gap between inner and outer electrode. This effects, in addn. to the cooling of the outer electrode a cooling of the inner electrode with the result that the efficiency of the ozone generation is improved.
