<p>A hinge to join the sheet metal door panel to the frame of a control cabinet consists of metal hinge pins, studs, and metal inserts with a threaded bore, both encapsulated in plastic material by injection moulding. The outward threaded bore is arranged at right angles to the hinge pin and allows a metal pin to be pushed in to contact the end of the hinge pin. The outside faces of the inserts lie flush with the surface and contact the facing metal part. Such a hinge is mechanically strong and requires no extra earthing strap to straddle the plastic hinge from door to frame.</p> |
