Operational control of large catering establishment - using order input terminals, preparation terminals, central processor and printers

The method and arrangement are for the control of processes, i.e. ordering preparing and/or finishing at short notice, distribution and accounting, involving a limited number of food and drink items in a large scale food operation are applicable in large restaurants esp. in motorway service areas. They enable the active operation to be conducted more reliably and rapidly than do conventional systems. The ordering information is entered via one or more input terminals in the dining areas and transferred to a data processing and storage unit. The processing unit displays the required information at food and drink preparation points. When the articles have been prepared, corresp. information is entered from the preparation points and a serving ticket produced for the waiter to deliver with the order. The system simultaneously produces a receipt corresp. to the order.
