Knitting needle movement - butts against a pliable shock absorber block protected by thin plate

The elastic dampener, in the knitting needle movement control mechanism, is located in the wedges of the lock mechanism in the sections where contact is made with the needles. Each dampener has a mounting filled with a rubber- type material, protected by a thin metal plate, on the side where the needle strikes, which is thinner than the thickness of the needle. The shock absorber prevents distortion of the needle, through impact forces along its length, and increases knitting speeds.
