PURPOSE:To improve the reliability, by providing a feed detecting part which detects information of a voltage or a current fed to each repeater and by switching the current system to the stand-by system by the output of this detecting part. CONSTITUTION:An optical submarine cable consisting of many optical fibers and one feeding cable and plural repeaters are connected to constitute a system. A feed detector 1 detects feed information such as a feed current and a feed voltage to drive a feed control part 2 which controls the feed to each repeater 3. If an SYS1 becomes faulty and is switched to an SYS2 when the SYS1 is used as the current system, the feed current is increased to operate a relay RL2. A contact rl2' is opened by the operation of the relay RL2, and a contact rl2 is closed, and thus, the system is switched from the SYS1 to the SYS2. |
