PURPOSE:To circulate and move dummy bars stably to near a mold by providing dummy bar winding tongue pieces and dummy bar inserting erect pieces to endless chains of a dummy bar circulating chain conveyor of a continuous casting device. CONSTITUTION:In casting 2-3 pieces of slabs or the like continuously and simultaneously with a continuous casting plant, dummy bars 9 having 2-3 pieces of dummy bar heads are used. The dummy bars 9 are disconnected from slab in the positions out from pinch rollers and are turned to near the mold again for the purpose of the next time of continuous casting. At this time, the dummy bars 9 are received from hooks 22 by means of the detaining pins 10A of a chain conveyor 5 having plural lines of endless chains 4, and the dummy bars 9 are detained by dummy bar winding tongue pieces 7 and are transferred together with the chains 4. After the dummy bars are positioned in the upper part of the mold by dummy bar inserting tongue pieces 8, they are loaded stably into the mold through a dummy bar insertion guide 20. |
