<p>Weft inserter (4) drive system for shuttleless looms comprises drive wheel (10) engaging weft inserter (4) and mounted on shaft (40) carrying pinion (42) in mesh with oscillating gear sector (44), the latter driven from crank or eccentric (50) by connecting rod (54). The pivot connection (56) between gear sector (44) and connecting rod (54) is movable along line (58) which is radial w.r.t. the gear sector pivot point (48), the position of the pivot connection (56) being varied by control lever (60) pivotal at point (62) offset from line between axis of pinion (42) and gear sector (44) pivot point (48). Speed redn. at reversal points of oscillating gear sector (44) is much enhanced, and weft pick-up is easier as well as release.</p> |
