A face support assembly for shield support with a lemniscate guide is described which is suitable for a working method designated as sublevel caving. The support assembly has a normally closed opening in the shield, through which, in the opened state, material can fall into the space located below the shield and below the opening. That part of the floor bar which forms a part of the lemniscate guide is of such a length that, when the face support assembly is set against the roof, material falling through the opening falls essentially through the part of the space which lies above this part of the floor bar. <IMAGE> |
