Connection element for worm extruder housings - uses H=shaped clamp, with clamping jaws and wedge between expanding jaws

The element is for the connection of hollow bodies, esp. worm extruder housings. It consists of a clamp, engaging behind axially opposite projections of the housings. The clamp (1) is H-shaped, with two flanks forming the clamping jaws (6,7), the other two flanks forming expanding jaws (4,5). The connecting web (3) is formed as an elastic bending zone. The clamping jaws each engage in a groove (16,17) next to the joint (18) between two housings (19,20). The expanding jaws form an outward opening retainer (9) for a wedge (8). This may be drawn into the clamp, bending the web, and compressing the clamping jaws.
