The cable junction has a casing (4) enclosing the junction between the ends of two (or more) cables. The cables enter the casing through seals. Each seal comprises a support ring (1), coaxially around the cable but not touching it, and a shrink-fit sleeve (2) enclosing the support ring and when shrunk sealing around the cable. The advantage lies in the seal being capable of accommodating varying numbers and sizes of cable. The size and design of the support ring is chosen to suit needs. For example, it may have compartments for more than one cable.
