Each pedal is linked to the other one by a cable or chain drive looped over upper rollers (32) attached to the frame of the bicycle. The relative spacing of the rollers is adjustable so that the chain or cable drives (28) are parallel for maximum efficiency and mechanical advantage. A spacer bar (41) with slots locates the relative settings of the guide rollers. The guide roller axes are fixed at the ends of support arms (42) whose upper ends are threaded on an adjusting bolt through a pivot eye on the frame. The supports are simple to fit and adjust.
