The two-stroke engine is a further development of existing designs. It comprises two pairs of parallel cylinder-piston units with opposite reciprocating action and eccentrically rotating relative to crankshafts at right angles to the cylinder axes. Two parallel discs, connected via circumferentially spaced axially extending bridge pieces around their periphery, are fixed between the two pairs and to the respective crankshafts at right angles to them while fuel mixture inlet tubes extend through openings between these bridges. The inner peripheries of the discs have outwardly open U-shaped flanges which form a labyrinth seal with inwardly open U-shaped flanges provided on the outer periphery of a non-reciprocating further disc arranged between the discs.
|
