<p>A composite element, specially for use as a floor mat in motor vehicles, consists of a load bearing core, made of a semi-rigid foam material such as polyurethane with a density from 50 to 300 kg/cu.m., and a cover layer with a high surface friction which is bonded to the core or foamed to it. The cover layer (1-5 mm thick) pref. consists of soft polyurethane foam, expanded or solid PVC, latex, reinforced by woven tissue and structured. This increases the friction between core and cover layer enough to prevent them from displacement relative to each other.</p> |
