PURPOSE:To achieve a magnetic head with excellent wear resistance and highly acculate track width, by inserting a low softening point glass thin layer around a track section with specific processing and providing a nonmagnetic substance dummy block. CONSTITUTION:A ferrite block 8 and a ferrite block 8' having cut-groove 5 for winding are opposingly located with a prescribed gap, a high softening point glass is charged to the air gap to form a gap 2 and a pair of ferrite blocks 8, 8'. Next, after removal processing in parallel with the gap 2, several pieces of tracks 3 with a prescribed track width TW can be obtained through removal of several stripes orthogonal to the gap 2. A nonmagnetic substance dummy block 11 provided with a prescribed number of notches is inserted to a core block 9, and low softening point glass 7 is charged in the air gap to incorporate the both blocks 9 and 11. Several pieces of desired magnetic heads can be obtained by cutting off the blocks along chained lines and polishing the pieces. |
