<p>PURPOSE:To stabilize the combustion to prevent the vibration due to torque fluctuation from being produced by a method wherein a vortex producing means is intensified at a cylinder, the turning direction of suction air stream in a branched passage of a suction manifold of which is nearly opposite to the turning direction of suction air vortex in the combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:The turning directions of suction air vortexes S in the combustion chambers 6, 7 and 8 are all clockwise, while the turning directions of the suction air streams R1, R2 and R3 in the branched passages 20, 21 and 22 of the suction manifold 15 are various with one another, in other words anticlockwise on R1, rectilinear on R2 and clockwise on R3. As a result, the order of the turn of suction air stream in respective cylinders 3, 4 and 5 is different. Accordingly, in order to equalize the strengths of the vortexes in respective combustion chambers 6, 7 and 8, the frontal angle theta1 of a guide wall 29 of the first cylinder 3 with large turn of suction air stream is set at the larger value, the frontal angle theta3 of a guide wall 31 of the third cylinder 5 with small turn of suction air stream is set at the smallest value and the frontal angle theta2 of a guide wall 30 of the second sylinder 4 with the turn of suction air stream, the order of which lies between those of the other two turns mentioned above, is set at the intermediate value between the above-described values.</p> |
