<p>PURPOSE:To improve commerical value and make use conditions of a catalyst visible by including colored iron oxide in a molding contg. calcium aluminate, titanium oxide and heat resistant aggregate, and impregnating the molding with a catalyst component then heat treating the same. CONSTITUTION:A molding contg. calcium aluminate, titanium oxide, heat resistant aggregate such as silica or alumina, and iron oxide of a yellow or yellowish red color as a catalyst for purification of gases is impregnated with platinum group metallic salt, after which it is heat treated at above 300 deg.C, whereby said catalyst is produced. Although this catalyst assumes a strong white color prior to the heat treatment, it is colored red after the treatment; at the same time, the catalyst metallic salt is turned to active catalytic metal by the heat treatment. Hence, the control of production processes is easy, and the use conditions of the catalyst are visible.</p> |
