NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formulaI[R1 is lower alkyl which may be substituted with hydroxyl group; R2 is H or ester residue; Y is nitrogen-containing heterocyclid group or group of formula II (R3 and R4 are H or alkyl; R5 is H or ester residue)], or its salt when R2 is H. EXAMPLE:6-Chloroacetamidopenicillanic acid p-nitrobenzyl ester. USE:Antibacterial agent. It is useful for the prevention, remedy and treatment of infectious diseases caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. PROCESS:The compound of formulaI can be prepared, e.g. by reacting the compound of formula II or its salt with the compound of formula MSH (M is H or alkali metal), and then reacting the resultant compound of formula III or its salt with the compound of formula IV. |
