<p>The ignition distributor is coupled to the engine block via a two-part coupling (15). The first part (16) of the coupling (15) has a radial slot (19) into which a pin (20) projecting perpendicularly from the other part (17) fits. Both parts (16,17) pref. comprise discs of the same dia. carried by a shaft (11) projecting from the motor block (12) to which the distributor housing (12) is secured, and by the driven distributor shaft (18) respectively. The slot (19) in the first part (16) extends radially inwards from the periphery of the disc and a spring may be secured to one side of the slot (19) to act against the pin (20) and cause it to be held in contact with the other side of the slot (19). The coupling exhibits a low noise level and maintains the precision of the ignition point.</p> |
