PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of short-circuited accident between the tips of electrodes by capacitively connecting the tips and basal ends of recording electrodes arranged close to a recording medium with the interposition of a dielectric part. CONSTITUTION:Recording electrodes 5a to 5c are divided into basal ends 5aK to 5cK and tips 5as to 5cs, and these basal ends and tips are capacitively connected with each other through a dielectric part 6. The potential of the basal ends 5ak to 5ck is raised by the output voltage of high-tension signal generating circuits 7a to 7c, and the tips 5as to 5cs are charged inversely to the basal ends 5ak to 5ck by electrostatic induction action. And, discharge is made between the tips 5as to 5cs and an auxiliary electrode 8a to generate ions by which electrostatic latent image is formed on a recording medium 9. Thus, because, even when a short-circuited accident occurs between the tips of electrodes, the short circuit current is hindered by the dielectric part and the inflow of the short circuit current into the basal ends of the electrode is avoided, the breakage of the high-tension signal generating circuit, etc. can be prevented. |
