ELECTROLYTE FILLING TYPE BATTERY

PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of an electrolyte into the external periphery of a battery laminate and to improve the stability of the voltage characteristics, by impregnating a resin coating on the external periphery of a separator. CONSTITUTION:A resin coating is impregnated on the external periphery of an absorbing separator 3. The resin coating is prepared by diluting vinyl chloride resin with an organic solvent such as toluene or butyl acetate to a low viscosity, and impregnated onto the external periphery of the separator 3, and the impregnated separator 3 is used. Thus the electrolyte short-circuit on the periphery of electrode plate group due to penetration of the electrolyte from the separator itself and due to penetration from a gap of the separator 3 and the electrode plate 2 is prevented, and the discharge capacity is improved and stabilized and the fluctuation of voltage can be eliminated.
