PURPOSE:To shorten data processing time extremely by dividing a request to read block data and giving priority to the 1st request to read when a copy of a desired main storage area is not present in a data buffer. CONSTITUTION:When a copy of a desired main storage area is not present in the data buffer 7 of the 2nd buffer storage device constituting some part of a storage hierachy system, a request to read block data of (n) by N bytes including the main storage area is divided by (n), and sent to a main storage device 1 continuously by N bytes for every time. Then, when new main storage access is requested during the generation of the (n) successive requests to read and a copy of a desired main storage area is not present in its own data buffer 7, only the at least 1st request to read among new (n) requests to read is given priority to the former (n) successive requests to read. |
