PURPOSE:To obtain good toughness and penetration bead workability by using a flux contg. specific amts. of TiO2, B2O3, and a steel wire contg. prescribed amts. of C, Mn, and backing the groove with glass fibers contg. prescribed amts. of Al2O3, MgO, etc. and contg. no B2O3. CONSTITUTION:Glass fibers contg. 35-75% SiO2, and 10-55% total of at least one or more components out of Al2O3, MgO, ZrO2 and contg. no B2O3 are brought in abutment on the rear surface of the groove of materials to be welded. Welding is carried out by using flux contg. 10-30% TiO2 and 0.1-1% B2O3 and a steel wire contg. 0.1-0.3% C and 1.8-3.5% Mn. |
